at a Sleep Inn. It exceeded our expectations. The Beaufort staff
The positive aspect of our trip was the continental breakfast, it was very fresh and the morning staff was friendly. The hotel is on the older side but the rooms were clean and up to standards.
The room was OK, I paid about 350 for 2 nights just one bed. The receptionist was rude and unpleasant. I do not recommend this place for this price and service.
We booked the room over 2 months in advance for our Daughter's Marine Corp graduation and were very tired and not feeling well upon arrival due to the long drive and was looking forward to a nice rest that evening before getting up at 5 am for the start of the family day activities on base. We check in and the rooms AC is not running properly it shows an error on the readout, we turned it off and on and it reset it and we let the front desk know there was a problem. A little later it was still not working and then another guest walks in to the room while my wife whom was feeling sick from the heat from the room and exhaustion from the trip was trying to rest and she goes to the front desk and they get the other guest another room and then tell us they put us in the wrong room so we are happy as we thought they were moving us due to the damaged AC unit but they tell us they gave our room away already and we have to stay in the one they put us in and they would try to find a maintenance man to fix our issue. Later they called and told me there was nothing they could do as the maintenance man would not come in until the morning and told me I should keep trying to reset the AC to get it working on my own throughout the night and maybe it would work. I was told that they would have a district person there the next day and that they would speak with me. I told them that we would be at the base from 6am until 3pm and they said that was fine the Manager would make sure to see us about compensating us for the issue. Not only did e not have AC but when turning the lights off at night the bulbs still flickered nonstop so it was a little frightening as there was a thought of a short out on top of just the annoyance of lights blinking while you are trying to sleep. Needless to say we had to buy fans from a local store and try to cool off to sleep and my wife got no sleep that night and was so sick the next morning that she could not even go to the base and so she missed the whole day with our Daughter. The manager never showed up and we were never contacted and a maintenance man finally fixed the room at 4pm that next day. Upon Checkout at 5am the next morning we were told that the General Manager was out of town that week but they would contact us about fixing the bill for us sometime the following week, and we still have not been contacted by them. It is disgusting that this hotel uses the fact that the whole town is busy with the graduation and that you have no choice but to stay were you are due to a lack of rooms to mistreat it's guest and basically refuse to offer decent customer service because you will stay for your child's graduation. They should be ashamed.
was so friendly and helpfull. From this great experience, we will
certainly stay at a Sleep Inn again.
We visited the hotel to pick up our marine from Parris Island, when checking in we were told it would be no problem for us to get a roll away bed for him to sleep in on Friday night. After our room was cleaned we noticed no roll away bed. I attempted to call the front desk over 7 times in the span of an hour but there was only a busy signal. At this point I decided to go down to the front desk, the clerk that was working was less than friendly and was sitting to the far right so it didn’t appear anyone was working. When I asked about the roll away she was not happy and stated that they do not typically offer this service but she would call someone and give me a call at my room. After a couple of hours I stopped back down and she stated she completely forgot and she was going to take her break so she passed me off to Robert. Robert again stated that the hotel only has one roll away and said that someone had it. He said they used to have an air mattress but that was gone as well. At this point I asked if he could check to see if there was anything else we could do. He proceeded to slam the “be back sign” on the counter and explain to me that someone may have extended their stay so they have no bed. He then went though the second level door and came back and said there is nothing there. When I asked about a manager he was very agitated and stated they were the only ones on staff. I then asked if we could at least get some extra blankets so that someone could sleep on the floor, he brought out a very thin brown blanket. Needless to say this was not good service as I have been a Call Center Manager for over 10 years, my job is to provide and coach to top notch service. I do understand the situation with the bed, but feel that the attitudes that both representatives used was very unnecessary. After driving 17 hours to see our Marine this was not something we thought we envisioned would be an issue.
Nice and clean.. Friendly Staff. Would stay again
Even though a member of Choice Hotels, this was our first stay
